Week 02

So today marks two weeks since we got little Sierra. To summarize her traits, characteristics and personality, I had to narrow down an extremely extensive list of 6 (Evil, demonic, possessed, crazy, aggressive and murderous) to 1: Delightful.

Sleep is something we've become accustomed to not having, and any sleep we do get is brief and unpleasant (usually ends with a claw into the eyeball the moment you open them, or constant attacking of head, belly and nether regions)

"Me? Evil? But me is so sweets and innocents!"

Yeah... It's all cute and innocent when she's hungry, or lonely. And you see all these pictures on the blog and think 'Awww, such a sweet little kitten'... But want to know the reality?:

"Filthy little humanses, stealingses the precccciousss"

It's not all so bad though is it? She's only a little kitten... I mean, how evil can she be?

Ok ok... I'll stop showing how evil she is, and show the good side...

Day 02:

Short version:
* Big kitty still frustrated
* Little kitty lovin every second of it.

Detailed version:

So I had a little more sleep than I did on the first night, I had maybe 3 hours or so before she started attacking me again in the morning. Sleep at 2am and wake up many times inbetween it's a bit harsh but I forgive her because she's so adorable and sweet.

She's eating well. Not drinking as much as I'd like her to when it's +36 celcius outside and probably hotter in the room, but I gave her a fan, open window and closed blinds. Plus, she's getting some liquid from the food at least.

Litter tray is a bit of an issue, the first time she took a pee, she did so in the litter tray, but the subsequent pee and rabbit-droppings were done in the carrying basket which we have moved to avoid her getting used to doing it there.

She meows for a minute or two whenever we leave the room, but then she will settle down and sleep or play, and meows even more when you go back in there.

Sierra the silver tabby

On the 3rd of June, 2011, my girlfriend, Magdalena, and I took a train journey from our home in Poznań, Poland to Wrocław to collect our new bundle of fluff (Śmieszka, which due to a perceived negative connotation with Gulls as I come from the coast, and the way that it doesn't quite roll off the tongue, we decided to change) Sierra.

We collected her from Wrocław main station at 18:20ish and returned on the train at 19:25 before arriving back at home sometime close to 23:00.

She is gorgeous, tiny and sweet - at just 6 weeks old. She's settling in quite well - although our other kitty Mruczka is not taking it too well. The first night was a little different - my partner and I took to sleeping in seperate rooms with our respective kitties to help the transition go a little smoother.

All was well with my little Sierra cuddling into my arms, until about 2am at which point she began attacking me (playfully) the next 5 hours - attacking my belly every time I breathed, my eyes every time I blinked, and my fingers/toes every time I wiggled them. After an extremely long day working and traveling to and from Wrocław, and after getting 2 hours of sleep with the kitten, and then another long day today - it's been very tiring, but very rewarding.
